Witchcraft Coming for U.S. Kids

Witchcraft is coming for your kids. This may seem hard to believe for some, but studies show witchcraft is on the rise in the United States, especially among the younger generations. What’s even scarier is how popular witchcraft has become on social media platforms, especially TikTok.

Before we go any further, let’s clarify something. Witchcraft and Wicca are often thought to be the same thing. They aren’t.

Wicca is a neo-pagan religion that’s growing in popularity and acceptance in the U.S. and Europe. There’s no real consensus among Wiccans as to what that religion is all about. A Great Britain native named Gerald Gardner cobbled together a belief system composed of a variety of religious beliefs and rituals.

Witchcraft is growing in popularity
With the advent of the internet, information like this is more available than ever.

Some Wiccans worship more than one deity, while others only worship a “God” or “Goddess.” Still others worship nature, calling it Gaea after the Greek Earth Goddess. Not all Wiccans are witches, but a great many are.

Witchcraft is more involved with casting spells on other people. It has less to do with belief and more with actions. After doing research, the official term for spell casting appears to be enchantment.

While doing some research for the article, I came across a TikTok video that claimed to teach young girls how to cast spells on boys they liked to get them to respond in kind. Something every young girl should know, right? How is that a good way to teach them how to develop healthy relationships?

That’s where my concern comes in. Witchcraft and spells that promise people their dreams will come true are taking off in popularity among young people. Social media has made it very accessible. In fact, a Teen Vogue article on witchcraft says one reason witchcraft may be attracting more followers is that platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram have made it easier for beginners to find spellwork tutorials.

That same article says another draw of witchcraft is how inclusive it supposedly is. One of the aspects that makes Wicca and witchcraft so popular is the openness to non-normative forms of sexuality or non-normative forms of gender. We already have kids in public schools every day who struggle with those same issues, and this will only make it worse.

Don’t tell me that’s a coincidence. That’s a part of Satan’s plan he’s been working on since the Garden of Eden, and we’d better keep an eye on our kids.

Do you want further proof? In doing research, I came across a YouTube video from Emma Watson. Remember Hermione from the Harry Potter movies? The title of the video is “What’s in my Bag?” It’s a popular YouTube series that shows what celebrities carry in their bags when they travel.

It turns out that Emma is into tarot cards. Tarot cards supposedly can read a human being’s subconscious mind. That’s something that only God can do. “I love the ritual of it,” she said in the video. Rituals are a huge part of witchcraft. “I’m almost frightened at how accurate these things are.”

She did a demonstration on camera, spreading the cards out on the couch beside her. One was turned up and the rest were face down. “I guess I should choose this one since the deck picked it for me.” Really? Is that the message we want young girls to hear? Do the magic cards pick themselves?

You require more proof? How about this article from Elle? Other celebrity witches include Beyonce, Katy Perry, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, and actress Vanessa Hudgens. These are not people you want your daughters to look up to.

Take it directly from a former witch. Musician and artist Jenny Weaver talks about how deep Hollywood is into witchcraft and spells. She says Hollywood directly casts spells over the people who come to watch whatever form of entertainment they’re publishing. This is not the first time I’ve heard this, either.

Information on witchcraft is more available than ever. Be vigilant.
Please know what your kids are getting into. This information is more available than ever.

Wiccans and witches are even finding ways to combine what they do and believe with Christianity. That’s the ultimate form of heresy. My hunch is that folks are trying to latch on to the credibility of Jesus Christ and use it to attract more people into mystic practices.

God takes witchcraft very seriously. In the New Testament, the word sorcery is translated from the Greek word pharmakeia, from which we get our word pharmacy. Did you know that witchcraft and spiritism often involve the ritualistic use of magic potions or mind-controlling drugs? Using illicit drugs to open ourselves to the invasion of demonic spirits is a form of witchcraft.

Gotquestions.org says keep this point in mind: there are only two sources of spiritual power: God and Satan. Guess which one that witchcraft comes from? Witchcraft is Satan’s realm, and he is very good at counterfeiting what God does. After all, since the Garden of Eden, his major focus has been to divert human hearts away from worshipping God.

At the heart of witchcraft and wicca is a desire to know the future and control events that are not ours to control. Those abilities belong only to the Lord. This desire has the same roots as Satan’s first temptation to Eve: “You can be like God.” (Genesis 3:5)

As Christians, we don’t have to fear the power of Satan. However, we should acknowledge and stay far from it. First John 4:4 says, “Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” While the devil can cause us all kinds of trouble, there is no power of his that can ultimately defeat us.

That being said, if you have young people you’re raising up, be alert and aware of what’s going on. Pray over them. Pray hard. After all, their eternal life is at stake: Galatians 5:19-21 points out that Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

I love the way Gotquestions puts it: "Witchcraft, and its many forms promise spirituality but lead only to emptiness and death. Jesus is the only one with the Words of Life, John 6:68 says.”

Pray for those kids and young people like never before!
