Trying Something New

I'm trying something new with an all-new site. I recently began taking classes through the Christian Leadership Institute website. I thought I would try to share some of the things I'm learning with fellow believers and I'm hoping occasionally with someone who might be seeking.

I've been a believer since I was ten years old. However, it's not been an easy road, nor should it be, right? I've gone through some rough periods in which I fell away from faith for a while. However, He always seems to find me again in interesting ways.

I remember being home in Castlewood, South Dakota, one day doing the laundry. I was in my room in the front of the house putting my clothes away and happened to look out the front window. I lived kitty-corner from the Presbyterian Church in Castlewood, the place I first heard about this guy named Jesus. I didn't hear it audibly, but I still heard "it's time to come back to church" rattling around in the big empty space between my ears.

I've battled alcohol trouble, pornography, skirt chasing, pride, a whole lot of anger, passivity, and many other sins of the flesh. However, Jesus still loves me and he died to save me from my own sins. He died to save you from yourself as well. We're going to talk a lot about that fact here on the site.

We'll learn something together. How does that sound?
